چکیده

The Metropolis-Adjusted Langevin Algorithm (MALA) is a Markov Chain Monte Carlo method which creates a Markov chain reversible with respect to a given target distribution, π , with Lebesgue density on R ; it can hence be used to approximately sample the target distribution. When the dimension N is large a key question is to determine the computational cost of the algorithm as a function of N . One approach to this question, which we adopt here, is to derive diffusion limits for the algorithm. The family of target measures that we consider in this paper are, in general, in non-product form and are of interest in applied problems as they arise in Bayesian nonparametric statistics and in the study of conditioned diffusions. In particular, we work in the setting in which families of measures on spaces of increasing dimension are found by approximating a measure on an infinite dimensional Hilbert space which is defined by its density with respect to a Gaussian. Furthermore, we study the situation, which arises in practice, where the algorithm is started out of stationarity. We thereby significantly extend previous works which consider either only measures of product form, when the Markov chain is started out of stationarity, or measures defined via a density with respect to a Gaussian, when the Markov chain is started in stationarity. We prove that, in the non-stationary regime, the computational cost of the algorithm is of the order N with dimension, as opposed to what is known to happen in the stationary regime, where the cost is of the order N.

Optimum Pareto design of vehicle vibration model excited by non-stationary random road using multi-objective differential evolution algorithm with dynamically adaptable mutation factor

In this paper, a new version of multi-objective differential evolution with dynamically adaptable mutation factor is used for Pareto optimization of a 5-degree of freedom vehicle vibration model excited by non-stationary random road profile. In this way, non-dominated sorting algorithm and crowding distance criterion have been combined to differential evolution with fuzzified mutation in order ...

Robust Wagner–Whitin algorithm with uncertain costs

In real-world applications, costs for products are not deterministic: neither static nor dynamic. They actually tend to be non-stationary and cross-correlated. To overcome this drawback, there have been some efforts by researchers to extend the Wagner–Whitin algorithm to consider stochastic costs. However, they assume that the information of probability density function of random costs exists. ...

Nonlinear and Non-stationary Vibration Analysis for Mechanical Fault Detection by Using EMD-FFT Method

The Hilbert-Huang transform (HHT) is a powerful method for nonlinear and non-stationary vibrations analysis. This approach consists of two basic parts of empirical mode decomposition (EMD) and Hilbert spectral analysis (HSA). To achieve the reliable results, Bedrosian and Nuttall theorems should be satisfied. Otherwise, the phase and amplitude functions are mixed together and consequently, the ...

Adaptive Thresholding in Marine RADARs

In order to detect targets upon sea surface or near it, marine radars should be capable of distinguishing signals of target reflections from the sea clutter. Our proposed method in this paper relates to detection of dissimilar marine targets in an inhomogeneous environment with clutter and non-stationary noises, and is based on adaptive thresholding determination methods. The variance and t...

The Time Adaptive Self Organizing Map for Distribution Estimation

The feature map represented by the set of weight vectors of the basic SOM (Self-Organizing Map) provides a good approximation to the input space from which the sample vectors come. But the timedecreasing learning rate and neighborhood function of the basic SOM algorithm reduce its capability to adapt weights for a varied environment. In dealing with non-stationary input distributions and changi...
